Content. Motherwort herb.
Characteristics. Motherwort herb contains ether oil, tannins, flavonoids (rutin, quercetine, hyperoside etc.), iridoids, saponins, vitamin ?, carotene, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.
Description: Fragmented product. Pieces of stalks, leaves and trusses passing through the sieve with 7 mm mesh. The color is grayish-green. The smell is weak. Taste of aqueous extract is bitterish.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Herbal sedative drug.
Pharmacological effect. The motherwort herb concoction expresses pronounced sedative effect, possesses hypotensive properties, slows down the rhythm and increases the strength of heart contractions.
Indications. Increased agitation, sleep disorder, neurasthenia, neuro-circulatory dystonia.
Contraindications. Increased sensitivity to drug; chronic renal failure, acute glomerulonephritis; pregnancy, lactation, children younger than 12 years.
Dosage and administration. Place about 9 g (2 teaspoons) of motherwort herb in enameled ware, add 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover and heat on the boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter and then squeeze remaining product. The resulting concoction is diluted with boiled water to 200 ml. Take concoction per os 1/4 -1/3 glass 2-3 times per day 15 minutes before meal. It is recommended to shake concoction before the use.
Adverse effects. Allergic reactions are possible.
Drug interaction: The drug is compatible to other sedative drugs; it enhances the action of hypnotic drugs and other drugs depressing central nervous system.
Effects on ability to drive and use machines. The drug does not affect ability to perform potentially dangerous activities, requiring increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions (including the driving, work with moving machines).
Presentation. Fragmented herb 35 g, 50 g in cardboard packs with internal paper bag. The text and instructions are completely printed on cardboard pack.
Storage conditions. Keep the product in the dry site protected from light; prepared concoction shall be kept in cool site for no longer than 2 days. Keep away from children.
Shelf-life. 3 years. Do not use after “Best before” date on the package.
